The Sandringham Double Gates are made from solid steel for a traditional wrought iron appearance. The design incorporates hoops and spears to create an elegant yet stately driveway gate that will compliment town or country homes. These gates can also be padlocked for security. The Sandringham Double Gates are supplied dipped in a black primer ready for you to paint with a top coat in the colour of your choice. We recommend Hammerite but any exterior metal paint can be applied.

If you are installing directly onto brickwork, due to the weight of the gate, care should be taken to ensure the brickwork is strong enough to support it. 70mm (2.75") square gate posts that are designed to be concreted into the ground are available if required. Steel posts concreted into the ground are recommended to avoid damage to brickwork.

How to Measure Gates

To determine what width of gates to order, measure the gap between your walls or posts. If the gap measurement that you have is 8ft, this is the size option you should choose. The gates themselves will be narrower than the gap measurement to allow space for the hinges to be installed. If you are replacing existing gates, you should still measure the opening and not the width of the existing gates to ensure your new gates will fit the gap with the hinges that are supplied. Please note the hinges require a flat vertical surface for installation.

If you need to install posts within your opening, order gates to fit the remaining gap once the posts have been installed. For example, if you have an opening of 10ft 5.5in and need to install 2 x 2.75in posts, the remaining gap will be 10ft and this is the size gates you should order. Posts are only required if you do not already have strong walls or posts in place on which to hang the gates.

The height measurement of the gate is from the bottom frame to the highest point in the gate.

When installing your gates, remember to allow for ground clearance, typically 50mm (2") or more if your ground slopes.

Warranty

Our metal gates come with a 10-year workmanship guarantee, covering the structural integrity of the welding and the manufacturing process. This guarantee does not extend to the paint finish, which requires regular maintenance to prevent rust. While the zinc plating and powder coating can protect against corrosion for up to 10 years, exposure to coastal environments may shorten this lifespan. Customers are responsible for touching up any chips, wear, or installation-related marks to maintain protection. All nuts and bolts should be painted after fitting, and periodic maintenance with a rust-inhibiting metal paint is recommended. Failure to carry out necessary upkeep may void the guarantee.
